Please keep track of reading minutes on your reading calendar.  Turn it in for a free mini pizza at Pizza Hut. 

Please work on fluency folders every night.  Turn them in on Fridays.

Please remember to practice your spelling words. This week we will be working with the ‘ake” and “oke” chunks.

 *Sight words: want, friend, too

Feb 1^st – Class Spelling Bee

Feb 2nd– Spelling Test/Spirit Day

Feb 5^th – 9^th SEP WEEK

Feb 7^th – First Grade Spelling Bee

Feb 14^th – Valentine Party

Feb 19^th – President’s Day - NO SCHOOL

Spelling Bee

All students will participate in the class spelling bee.  The top two kids in each class will compete in the First Grade Spelling Bee.

Valentines

We will have a class party on Feb. 14^th.  Students can bring valentines for their classmates.  We have 26 kiddos.  Please only have your student write whom it is FROM.  It is easier to pass out if we are not looking for the TO part - and you won’t need a class list.

Show and Tell

On Friday February 2nd please bring something that begins with the letter “P”.
